I think this is filled with many symbols, as a self-portrait is meant to convey...I like the way it turned out...different than a lot of self-portraits. Of course, this is my self portrait, haha...so it would be different - well, now that i've confused everyone!

Critique and Comments appreciated...

Its a very good self portrait, you kinda have a look on your face of " whaaat? " but its not dramatic.

good and modest photo. The blue of your shirt balances everything perfectly, niiice

I love the softness to your self portrait. And the saturation balance with the colors. Very nice!
What really intrigued me the most was the blur effect (if thats what you used). How you blurred out everything else, except your head, but then the top and forehead where blurred out as well. A very different approach, but it works very well. It's appealing to the eye, and the parallel black boarders compliment the piece too.
And I'm sure all the ladies compliment on how handsome you are, lol. Excellent self portrait! :)

Thanks for the view. And yes. The Gausian Blur effect was used with a heavy "feathered marquee tool". I like it because it gives it a neat filter, for lack of a better term. The movie Swordfish used the same thing with John Travolta in the coffee shop/bank thing. Anyway...and the black border I love because it reminds me of a director cut in films, ya know? widescreen. gotta love it...haha...

and thanks for the :+fav: - you're awesome!

That is truely a neat way to apply that to your work. And it speaks well with this piece. Keep up the good work. (I like the black border for the same reasons, I actually would like to work with some film someday...just to get a taste of what its like).
